Till minne av min vackra mamma Jeany - In memory of our beautiful Jeany
Jeany was a truly unique woman who made everyone who met her feel welcome. She had a certain warmth about her that made it very difficult for anyone to dislike her. She was generous, kind, loving, empathetic and the kind of friend, mother, grandmother and wife anyone would be lucky to have in their lives. For us who knew Jeany well, we knew how special she was. She had a way of making the people close to her know they were loved and appreciated and she went far and beyond for those she treasured.
She touched many hearts. She loved harder than anyone else. She was blessed with the most beautiful voice that made any opera lover in awe of her talent. She was truly beautiful, inside and out, with a heart of gold and a gorgeous smile. Wherever Jeany went, whether it was a top opera house in Germany, a seaside village in Tenerife, a hospital in Sweden or a upper class neighborhood in England, she left a lasting impression.
We all have beautiful memories of Jeany and losing her to Alzheimer’s has left a huge hole in all our hearts. May Jeany forever watch over her loved ones and let us all keep the memories of her alive.
We will come together and celebrate Jeany’s life in the church Stora Råby Kyrka in Lund on October 7th. Afterwards we will meet for tea and cake and have the opportunity to share all our memories of Jeany with one another

Vila i frid, fina Jeany.
For me the word I relate to you is “Gosa”, both for the wine box that was often sitting in the windowsill that we always could drink from and also for the warm and welcoming feeling that came with you and your home.
I spent so much of my student years at your house. I remember coming over to see Jenny and finding you sitting at the kitchen table, doing a crossword or painting flowers on the doors. You would always ask how I was, offer me dinner and a place to sleep on the couch, even though my own home was only a ten-minute walk away.
Your home really became a second home to me during those years. And you can be happy to know your hospitality has carried on to your daughter, she has the same caring and generous way of making people feel welcome and looked after.
I will never forget how much at home I always felt at Jeany’s place, her beautiful garden, the wine that was always available and so generously offered to everyone who visited, and the warmth and hospitality she showed me every single time.
Being with Jeany made me feel like I was in Greece. When I was in Sweden, she was the person who made me feel like I had a little piece of family there. She was the only person who truly made me feel safe, comfortable, and at home in Sweden. She would always welcome me with food, wine, and that beautiful generosity that made me feel like I belonged.
She was always so sweet, knowledgeable, and caring. I will never forget her visit to Athens with Jenny, talking to Greek people in the restaurant and creating such fun and unforgettable memories together.
I also think so fondly of our dinner in Sweden with my mum, when she came to visit me from Greece. Jeany prepared such a delicious dinner for us, and we drank so much wine that my mum and I were walking home a little tipsy, laughing along the way. It is one of those memories I will always carry with me.
Honestly, it feels like a piece of my heart is missing now that she is gone. I feel incredibly lucky to have known her and to have experienced her kindness, warmth, and hospitality. She gave me something very special: the feeling of having a home and family when I was far away from my own.
Rest in peace, dear Jeany. You will always have a special place in my heart, and you will never be forgotten. I’ll see you again one day. ❤️
Dear Jeany,
It has been lovely to cross paths with you in this life.
We will remember you as we saw you the last time , when we met you by chance in Lomma. We were sitting in the sunshine, sipping coffee by the sea. "I can't accept you offering this coffee, it is way too expensive these days" you said.
We still smile when we think of that moment.
With love,
The Arrigucci Family
Vila i frid 🕊️
